On the occasion of the next BIVEC/GIBET Transport Research Day which will take place on Thursday, 30th May and Friday, 31st May 2013 in Luxembourg, Professor David Banister from Oxford University, who is currently holding the BIVEC-Chair, will give a public lecture on "The Challenge of Sustainable Mobility".

This lecture will be accompanied by an intervention given by the Luxembourgish Minister for Sustainable Development and Infrastructures, Mr. Claude Wiseler, on the related strategy of the Luxembourgish Government: "Mobilité durable au Grand-Duché du Luxembourg".

BIVEC/GIBET is the "Benelux Interuniversity Association of Transport Researchers". Every two years, BIVEC/GIBET organizes the « Transport Research Day », which offers young and established scholars from the three Benelux-Countries an opportunity to present their findings against an informed audience of transport researchers, economists, geographers and alike. The conference will take place on the University's Campus Walferdange, combined with the Thursday night event named above, targeting the more general, interested public.
